My journey began with a military, then civilian, career supporting our armed forces across the globe for over 25 years. In 2017 my wife and I fell in love with Ashe/Alleghany Counties and the Blue Ridge Mountains. In short order, we decided to move our family here and soon discovered we never wanted to leave. My wife and I have 3 kids, 3 cats and a dog. We love taking full advantage of everything a small town and the mountains have to offer, including hiking and exploring, as well as supporting local wherever, and whenever, we can. We are very fortunate to be able to homeschool our children and provide them with not only book smarts, but hands-on education through travel and exploration.
